This workshop also provides an overview of the O'Hare, and Midway airport current Concessions programs; the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program; and the O'Hare 21 future expansion. This month’s Empower Hour will feature BACP Commissioner Ken Meyer chatting with Ben Helphand, Executive Director of NeighborSpace. NeighborSpace is the only nonprofit urban land trust in Chicago that preserves and sustains gardens on behalf of dedicated community groups. The organization stewards 137 community gardens and farms across 40 City of Chicago wards. As Earth Day approaches, organizations like NeighborSpace, working with neighborhood partners, are leading the efforts in community-based environmental change.

The candid conversation will cover the start of NeighborSpace, how communities can get involved, the business model behind the nonprofit, and community engagement. The webinar will end with a Q&A for attendees to ask questions.
